The Green Block Mobile Segregation Unit Division Facilities and services

The Green Block (TGB) provide a global patented waste segregation process, the Mobile Segregation Unit (MSU) that facilitates the segregation of co-mingled general waste into its recyclable streams on site at the point of production. The process is underpinned by a state-of-the-art technology platform that captures, measures and monitors waste production (volumes, weights and waste streams) in real time via QR-coded waste bags that are unique to each waste producer, enabling the digital traceability of waste throughout its lifecycle.

The MSU system is an innovative solution to the challenge of segregating and recycling waste in high-footfall, complex, multi-tenanted environments, such as rail stations, airports and shopping centres. The technology eliminates the need for colour-coded bins and manual waste sorting to facilitate world-class levels of recycling at these locations – where recycling rates have historically been poor.

Sixis Group provided TGB with the necessary investment to manufacture and begin rolling out their MSU devices and technology. The portable units have since been installed at major transport hubs and shopping centres, including at St Pancras International, Liverpool ONE, Birmingham Airport and across Network Rail South, transforming recycling rates at these locations.

As UK Government law changes, businesses must rethink their approach and behaviours towards the management and disposal of their waste or face heavy penalties for non-compliance. The MSU offering removes the risk while driving significant ESG benefits.
